Physical Therapy
The NHC Smithville Physical Therapy Team provides rehabilitation services that help restore function, improve mobility, manage pain, as well as aid in the prevention or limitation of disabilities as a result of injury or disease.
Physical therapists use electrical stimulation, hot and cold therapy,
massage, and other physical and electrical modalities to reduce pain, restore
health, and increase range of motion. They also teach mobility training
using prostheses, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, and walkers.
Physical therapy is an appropriate intervention for strokes, orthopedic injuries and surgeries, developmental delays, etc.

"I have been in four different centers, including other
NHC centers, and NHC Smithville is the best center that I have ever been
in. The Physical Therapy department is great and I am living proof of that...I
am walking for the first time in 9 years! My friends and family are amazed
and applauding my progress. The staff, nurses and techs...everyone at NHC
Smithville is marvelous!"
