For families with loved ones needing continual medical care, NHC Smithville’s Subacute & Skilled Care Unit provides 24/7 skilled nursing care to those individuals with complicated medical conditions. Many times patients in this unit need stepped-up medical attention for daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, incontinence care, and medication management. Our specially trained skilled nursing staff is there to assist with those daily needs along with being prepared to assist patients with medical components such as intravenous therapy, feeding tubes, colostomies, wound care, and inhalation therapy care.

While your loved one is in our care – we strive to help them achieve the highest possible quality of living.

Our Skilled Care Unit offers private rooms and semi-private rooms. Amenities include wireless internet and local phone service. The unit provides in - room dining or dining in the central dining room, individualized and group activities seven days a week, and a private dining room for special occasions.

"Oh, all of those frightening horror stories I have heard about patient care at health care facilities, but in my opinion they DO NOT exist at NHC in Smithville. My mother was a resident at NHC for approximately two months. During her stay, my family was very well pleased with the care and concern she received.
